inserting events

I just got my vegas movie studio 4.0 software so this may seem like a real novice question. I can't figure out how to insert an event in the middle of two other events and have the event on the right slide over instead of overlapping the one I just inserted. This is automatic on pinnacle and other programs. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

This might be better posted in the "Movie Studio/VideoFactory" forum instead of the Vegas forum. In Vegas 4 and 5, you simply need to turn on ripple editing. Does Movie Studio have a ripple button?

Yes, movie studio has a ripple button and thanks I didn't realize this forum was mainly for Vegas 5.0. I thought maybe it might be snapping enabled for what I was talking about. Thanks
