What I do is:

Right click on the sound track and ungroup. Then you can delete it.

that's what i do too, but it's not very convenient. You see, 99% of my videos i remove the audio and use a music track at the very end of the editing. But each time i drag n drop a clip in the timeline, i have to manually remove the audio and the track... would be nice to have a project properties checkbox that unchecks audio, and then when you need audio at the end, you enable it back.

I don't know if the Studio version offers this feature, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to try it ... Right-mouse-button-drag a clip onto the timeline. A little menu may pop up with options such as "add video only", "add audio only" and a few others. If that menu appears then choose "add video only".

The option is there, thanks. Not very intuitive, and it still requires one non-standard move, plus one click. It would be cleaner I think to remove audio or video from a project completely and re-enable them afterwards. Anyways, better than removing stuff manually.

Right-mouse-button-drag is used in several Windows programs, notably those from Microsoft. Try right-mouse-button-drag in Outlook between Mail, Calendar, Tasks etc.

I don't use outlook, and no, it is not common.

Agreed, on both counts.

It is educational, however, to try right-mouse-button clicking & dragging on everything in Vegas. You'll discover a wealth of nifty functions and shortcuts. Almost everything has a context menu. It's amazing how many features are there that you might not even think to look for. Once you find them though it makes editing faster and happier.

Thank you very much for your help!

By the way, is there a way that I can get notified by email when I receive a reply to my posts?

There is another option.

Leave the video audio alone. Do not delete it.

Where you have all your video clips assembled and you want to add your music .. add your music to the next audio track (just below the video audio track) .. then MUTE the video audio track.

The video audio is still there but it will not be heard.
