Install of 394 says complete, version 367 launches

Hi -
After being out of town for a few weeks I was happy to see that version 394 was released. I downloaded the install and it says that it completed the upgrade of the earlier version, but when I launch Vegas, either from the start menu or the taskbar it still says Version 367.

Anyone else had this problem?

yes; I just uninstalled 367 first, then installed 394

For VEGAS I now never "install-over".

1/- Uninstall

2/- Install

I remember just after the release of build 394 that it was officially recommended to uninstall the previous build and install build 394 fresh. That's the first time I remember this being the case.

To add to John, remember to reboot AFTER the uninstall and then reboot AFTER the new install.

Kick out dah Jams!

grazie, i think you left out the last word...... not that scs would let you put it in, and if they did, you get a visit from mc5's copyright lawyers....

i have ALWAYS uninstalled the previous point releases of vegas since 7 (i think).

It has been said here officially, albeit a long time ago, that all you need to do for a safe upgrade install is to delete the Sony install folder. That is where the install program unpacks files.
