Installation Count

I just had to reinstall 6.0d to fix a monitoring problem.

So...I'm sure Sony's registration process is smart, but to be sure: does it keep track of machine ID's, too? So I still only have One Vegas installation?

Not an issue at the moment, but if I ever get a farm set up for network rendering, I don't want any surprises.

I did have problems with reinstalling Vegas on our workstations.
We have a 15 user license and like to drag computers around in the company.
So reinstallations are quite common, and when I reinstalled it for the 16th time or so the license didn't work anymore.

Solution: get similar workstation and make an (Ghost) image :-)

I've re-installed ~ a dozen times, no problem so far. They just count the # of installs. When you "run out" give tech support a call & they reset the # (at least that's what I've read here).

yup - ran into that just today - It's also nice to be able to speak to someone who is american when calling about a tech support issue - The frustration I have had speaking to farmed out tech support in India is enough to make a person want to commit a felony.. :-|
