installation of MSPlat10 HD

Hello
I have been using Movie Studio Platinum Pro 9. I just bought Platinum 10.
Do I need to unistall 9 before installing 10?
will removing 9 later corrupt an installed 10?
Will the 10 installation save my settings and projects from 9?
Will I lose my projects from 9 if I unistall it?

Thanks Dale

If 10 is not an upgrade to 9, then you can leave both installed without a problem. There are some different bugs in each, so depending on the situation, you might want to use one or the other.

If 10 is an upgrade to 9 then you can still leave both installed to. The only physical difference whatsoever between upgrade and non-upgrade is the price you pay.

If I have both installed and then uninstall 9,, do 9 and 10 have shared files that will be removed by the uninstall? Will my 9 projects be lost?
Can v10 open my v9 projects?

Yes .. but .. once you open it in v10 and save it .. you will not be able to open it again in v9. If you think you may need to work on it in v9, save it with a new name under v10.

Ideally uninstalling 9 should have no effect on 10. However, there have been some very rare cases reported of some plugins disappearing from 10. Usually this can be fixed by redoing 10's installation and it will "fix" itself.

You won't lose any project files at all, unless for some odd and bizarre reason you've just happened to store them in a directory that you then erase, like, for example, storing them in the Vegas 9 program installation directory and then deleting that directory after you do the uninstall. That would be a very strange thing to do.
