Installation problems

So, I am trying to install a download version of Movie Studio Platinum 17 that I downloaded from the customer service center. It says that it is already installed when it tries to install. That may be true because when I was trying to get started, I downloaded a trial version figuring I could just enter the Serial Number and all would be well. Bad Choice! Now no matter what I do to try to install my version which I finally found on the Magix sight, I get the message that it is already installed. I have already uninstalled it.And can find nowhere else it might be hiding, but I am stuck any suggestions? Please!!! I need to use this tonight.

Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 2017 is a discontinued product and is not available for purchase or as a trial from MAGIX's/VEGAS's website: https://www.magix.com/us/ and has not been available since it was discontinued in mid-2021.

What is the URL address of the "customer service center" website from which you have downloaded VMSP17?

They have all of my previous purchases along with Serial Numbers, etc.

If you have just purchased Movie Studio from MAGIX's website, it won't be Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 17, it will be Movie Studio 2023 as thjat is the only version of Movie Studio that MAGIX has available at this time. As Movie Studio 2023 is not a Vegas product, the appropriate forum for Movie Studio is https://www.magix.info/us/video-forum/movie-studio/

However, if you bought VMSP17 prior to it being discontinued last year, go to the Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 17 lisitng under My Products on your MAGIX My Account, and de-activate any existing activation for that product, then try activating it again. During the activation process, make sure that you are using the exact same email address that you originally used to register VMSP17.

@Dan-Appel From memory I recall you could enter your serial number into a trial version. It was the same exe file. Your MS Platinum 17 file should be build 17.0.0.223 which was the last build released.

You first downloaded a trial version presumably a while back. You say you have uninstalled this trial so possibly something is left behind, maybe in the registry? Revo uninstaller https://www.revouninstaller.com/ is often recommended here as getting rid of any such problems. I've no personal experience with it.
