installing 6.0d weirdness

Widetrack wrote on 2/15/2006, 5:15 PM
Just downloaded (a couple of times) the 6.0d upgrade and my XP pro machinc says I can't install it because I don't have access to my TEMP folder, or my TEMP folder may be full, it's not sure which.

I log on as administrator, so I should have access to everything, right?

Anyone ever gotten anything like this??

Multiple downloads wont help. Download it once and save it to your HD. Set a system restore point, run disk cleanup and defrag and then reboot your computer and log in as administrator. Click the downlaod to install.

If this fails report back.

My upgrade went fine. Is your temp folder on a separate drive and is it full? Not enough hard drive space on C:?

Did all the disk cleanup and de-frag, but they didn't help. (glad I did, though. Cleanliness is good.)

I finally did notice that the install file on my disk was about 75MB, and was supposed to be 99.

Downloaded again, and watched all the way to 99MB. Then it worked.

Guess you got to watch these rascals.

Would be nice if there was a "checksum" check? Would this be possible for the Sony server to do? Is it possible? - Only an idea .. G

It sure was back in the old days of things like Kermit.

It still is today. At least for the Knoppix Linux on a CD distro.

And if there were a Linux version of Vegas, I'd drop Windows in a heartbeat!
