Installing ProDAD Respeedr

I'd like to install ProDAD Respeedr that was bundled with VMS15, but during the installation, I was advised to accept the installation of 3rd party codecs. Advice from this forum has always been to avoid installing 3rd party codecs at all costs. Has anyone installed Respeedr and, if so, is the installation of these codecs necessary?

I just installed it,no problems,very useful and efficient piece of software.

Crofter, did you have to install the codecs? If you did, I presume from your comment that they didn't have any adverse effects on VMS15?

Not something I took any notice of,it may have done but I haven't noticed any adverse effects if it did.

Thanks. I did install it without opting for the codecs but I couldn't import, so I bit the bullet (after setting a restore point) and installed it again, with the codecs. Things seem to be Ok, as you say, and yes, it is a neat piece of software and free too.
