INSTALLING UPDATE

I am feeling absolutely lame here. VEGAS 17 offers update upon opening. Once it's downloaded it asks to install it. Then it says it can't install while Vegas running. Closing Vegas closes everything altogether. And then it's all over again: offers update upon opening etc. etc. So many years as a user and suddenly stumble upon... what?

Normally after the program closes down it takes 2-3 seconds to start the update.

I thought the updating process was absolutely slick. I too got the aviso whilst editing so I just gave it the OK and was thrilled to see it go through its pace, then watched as it closed Vegas, informed me what I have to do to finish the process and that was it -- back to work without a hitch.
