Installing Vegas 6 over Vegas 5?

What is the best way to install version 6?

Uninstall version 5 first?

Just install version 6 ON TOP OF version 5?

What about all the plug-ins, will they automatically work in version 6? Or does something have to be done to get them to work? For example, Excalibur and UltimateS.

I just want to avoid any possible problems. Thanks

You can have both installed on the same machine. Vegas6 is installed to its on directory. ;)

If it installs in its own directory... does this mess up your Plug-ins and Scripts you already have installed?

I'm not a fan of having both installed on the same machine. I've been a user since Vegas Audio & Video were 2 seperate apps. If I just installed and left the latter on my box I would have Vegas Audio 2, Vegas 3, 4, 5, & now 6 installed. (6 apps) That's a bit much don't you think? (although I've changed computers many times between then & now)

It would be nice if there was just a VEGAS folder that would automatically update to the newer version. That way you wouldn't have to alter, reinstall, or otherwise mess with your Plug-ins. <--in theory

Worked ok for me. It acually copied my current plugs over into the v6 directory. all my scripts show up under v6.
