I didn't have any problems, nor have I heard about any conflicts, etc. here on this board.

I would recommend downloading and installing the latest updates. Click on the "download" button at the top of this screen.

The ONLY conflict of which I am aware is some DVD writing software conflicting with DVDA's ability to write to DVDs.

The two I use are both Nero 5.5.10.42 and Record Now DX 4.60.
Have you heard of these causing any possible conflicts? The one I would assume to cause more trouble than others would be Easy CD Creamator 5 or 6.

I use the same Nero release. No problems.

This is not a precaution, but something to remember if you should need to reinstall later:
Vegas creates an install folder: Program Files/Sonic Foundry Setup/Vegas 4.0. Before you reinstall you should delete that folder and everything in it.

Also, if you have Windows in a non-English language, most of the Sonic Foundry installers do not recognise the fact and still wants to create a folder called Program Files, while your computer may have that folder under a different name. I've mentioned this before but they do not seem to be able to hack it. (maybe I should tell ZG :-)
This does not cause trouble short term. But next time you install an English language application it may only see the Program Files folder and install itself into that. Then Windows begin to go schitzo because it doesn't know if it's supposed to be in English or that other language.

If your Program Files folder is called something else, make sure the setup folder goes there when you install a SoFo product. Then you're OK.

Apart from that annoying point, the Sonic Foundry installers do a great job. I've used a few of them.

I believe if any of the Record Now DLA features are installed there will be a conflict. Just don't install that part of Record Now and all should be fine.

Thanks for all the resopnces, and thanks re: DLA. I never use packets at all, never install the packet software.
