I was in the same situation. I installed both on personal desktop and on laptop. First time through for rendering you have to register or get some kind of code as I recall. Anyway, laptop was not on internet at the time so I called SOFO directly and got the code.

I asked them the question about laptop and desktop. They said their license policy allows you to install it on a laptop and desktop as long as you are not using both computers at the same time.

So...I have it both on my laptop and home desktop and just follow their guidlines.
