Ron, although you can't "see" the files until you buy the book, the tutorial files from the book can be found at :
http://www.sundancemediagroup.com/training/MovieStudioFiles.zip

I can't comment on how good the book is or isn't, because as the author, I'm a little biased.

I pre-ordered my copy of the book at Amazon on Jan 12, 2005 and now the status of my order is:

Items not yet shipped:
Delivery estimate: June 13, 2005 - June 24, 2005

...and today is June 27...

i was going to order at Walmart.com and their delivery is SEPT 28!!!! i think this is a ploy by the publisher for THEM only to sell the book in the first few months----so i bit. I ordered from CMP books. They will ship in 24 hours--so they say.

For those of you wondering about the publication date. Over the years I've found the publisher's publication date is more a 'suggested' date than an actual date. Often a publication date gets pushed back months.

What works for me is to add 'yet to be published' books to my wish list at Amazon. Periodically, I'll go through the wish list to see what books have been released. It seems that at least half of the books never make their initial publication date. It isn't a ploy. In fact a few never made it to print.

I just checked my Amazon order and saw this message:

Shipment #1: Shipping Soon We are preparing these items for shipment and this portion of your order cannot be canceled or changed.

And the amount is "pending" on my credit card, so perhaps we will be getting the book next week some time.
