Intel quick Synic render times

Hi all

I have the welcome project open in movie 13 platinum

If I choose Sony AVC AVCHD 1920x1080 50i preset and use Quick Sync speed it renders in about 50 seconds

If I use the quality option the movie 13 looks like it has stopped working though the elapsed time runs

After 1h 40 m 1% is done and the time remaining is 15h and 46s and still rising

I have a i73770 with its HD 4000 video driver latest version from intel

Any ideas why it is so slow??

Are your drivers up to date?

Hi

Yes latest drivers from the intel site for all the bits MB chipset, CPU and GPU

I also had a go with the older HD4000 drives with clean install each time

No good

I did find the time remaining went up and up till it went right around to the start time but after 9h movie showed only 1% done

That was with the welcome project in movie rendering sony AVCHD 1920x1080 50i preset

It was not the project files if I use the quick sync speed option it took just 50seconds

I would love to know why the quality option is not working

I did put in a support request - same advice as here use latest driver

Does the same thing happen for other projects?

You should open a case with SCS, it could be a bug.

Question though, why are you rendering to ACVHD?

Hi

I have opened a ticket, bit of a problem though I was asked to use the latest driver from intel I did that and sent a snapshot of my system as asked. that was where the fun starts !!

Intel's latest driver install programe is 15 ***** it contains audio and video drivers the video driver is 10 ****** support tell me to install 15********** as 10********* is out of date

So having told support about the version problem I have heard no more

Why render to AVCHD?

well I figured my footage is AVCHD from my camara AVCHD looks good on my TV my home movies are played out from a home server so I thought AVCHD would be a good format to make the movies in

But if anyone knows a better format for me to use please let me know

I did try main concept but on my TV that looks not as good a Sony AVCHD

Rendering to AVCHD....

With an AVCHD camera/camcorder, I often render to AVCHD too. Not as many conversion issues, and playable from my server (or ps3) too. Quality tends to be better than conversion to mp4 (which is better for in-home streaming among other things).

Well some news

Tech support asked me to send a gpu log file to them and to try Sony AVC mp4 render

Quick sync Quality option works in sony AVC internet 1920 preset

I found this in the log file for AVCHD

WARN 2014-05-21 19:47:57 Device type not supported
WARN 2014-05-21 19:47:57 Device is not compatible.

for the mp4 goes it says

INFO 2014-05-21 19:47:57 Device is compatible.
INFO 2014-05-21 19:47:57 This is the selected device.

Looks like a bug maybe anyway tech support are on it and can now see the confusion over itel driver numbers

Makes sense. Hopefully a patch will be forthcoming from SCS, it looks like they're being responsive to you.
