I called BlackMagic today. They (I think Scott) told me the intensity card was in a "Beta" stage with vegas 8.0a and 8.0b, but would probably not work with 8.0c and Not with 8.1 at this point in time.
I called Sony Media Software Support this morning and they said that all Black Magic integration development had been handed over to Black Magic Design, so it was out of Sony's hands.
Here's the response I got from BMD:
"...we have support for 8.0a and 8.0b for the 32bit versions. Versions 8.0c,
8.0d, and 8.1 currently do not work properly for Vegas. Development on this
continues but it is a slow process which we are working closely with Sony to
make this updated drivers work. But there's things that still need to be
done on both ends before this can move forward."
Would you please post your vista version, set-up, ram, and vegas config?
And, let us know how well the card works for previewing HD and SD on a HDTV from vegas 8.0c ? Thanks.
I've *just* upgraded my machine, but here's what it's been for the last couple of days.
Vista 64
8GB RAM
2TB x 2 RAID-0 Drives / Onboard IHC9R
Vegas 8.0c & 8.1
Intensity Pro w/ latest x64 driver
Only preview tests I've run have been a few 30P P2 MXF's (from an external eSATA) in a 8.0c 720P timeline output through the Intensity Pro to a 24" HDMI at Best Quality and it looked pretty damn great. Intensity was configured at "720" with no scaling.
I glad to read these posts on the Intensity Pro with Vista 64 and Vegas 8.0C. I have a Q9450 with Vista 64 and will upgrade from 8b to 8c. Now to add the Intensity pro. I am guessing this is now a good to go card to capture most any type of footage from various decks and cameras. I still have Canon XL1s etc and want to move to a good industrial and such videos type HD cameras. Reading the problems with different camera formats, which is working well and which is still a problem. I.E. Canon, Sony, JVC etc. thanks
Let us know how it works... I'd like to have one, but reading that Sony and BlackMagic say it won't work kinda gives me pause... At least that's how I read this thread.
