Interlace problems (still!)

Okay, I'm still having problems with my fields being off. Changing settings once in editing mode doesn't seem to have any effect, so I'm guessing my problem must be during capture. I'm capturing NTSC DV with lower field first, but upper field first doesn't seem to change things either. This is becoming a problem, especially when lowering velocity or creating stills (which need to be imported into photoshop to de-interlace. I'm using a P4 1.8ghz with 512 ram and multiple hard drives, all at 7200rpm. Thanks.

Corey,

Need more info. What do you mean by " field being off". It should not matter if you are using upper or lower field. What type of camcorder are you using? Are you saving the snapshot or saving a copy of the still you are capturing?

After capture, files play back looking jagged, as if every other line is one frame off. If I take a snapshot of a frame, I get the same problem, but if I take that frame into photoshop and de-interlace it, it looks fine. It isn't a HUGE problem because most of the video I'm working on is at normal speed, so the frames appear to interlace normally, but when slowing the frame rate, the jags are noticeable and stills MUST be dealt with in PS. Also, I was using my customer's digi8 camera, but I usually use either a VX-2000 or a panasonic DV-953, and have had the same problems with both. Very Irritating.

Any suggestions yet? I am having the same problem with yet another project. The only way I can describe it is as if the odd fields are from "frame A" and the evens are from "frame B." It makes everything look jagged and does not clear up when printed to tape. Any advice would be very helpful. Thanks.
