Interlace tearing

Hello,

I have just started experimenting with VV3 and come across a problem I can't figure out how to solve. Maybe there's no solution, but I'm hoping soneone here might be able to help me out.

I have a video clip in QuickTime format (format: Sorenson Video, field order: progressive) that I'd like to render in MPEG format suitable for building a DVD. Unfortunately, when I render as MPEG-2 (using MainConcept DVD NTSC template), most fast motion areas show substantial interlace tearing.

I found the video event property "Apply Interlace Filter" and this helps a bit, but there is still substantial tearing.

I have had much better results with a different QuickTime clip that appears to be in a slightly different format (format: Sorenson Video 3, field order: progressive). Note Sorenson Video vs. Sorenson Video 3. I still needed to turn on the video event Interlace Filter, but this resulted in virtually no interlace tearing for this second clip.

Anyone have any ideas on how to better render the first clip?

Thanks,
Steve
