Captured an entire HDV tape. Tape ran right to the end. VCR says it's stopped, Capture seems to say it's stopped.
Open Explorer pane and notice clips aren't named what I asked for, paid no real attention at this point. Dropped all clips onto T/L to let peaks and thumbs build. Opened new project and started trimming clips and dropping onto T/L. Save project and close Vegas, except it has a winge that it's still capturing, eh? Tell it to stop and it takes its time about it too.
Do something else. Go back to Vegas.
Open project, eek, V7.0d can't find any of the clips. So I goes searching for them. No sweat, they're now correctly named. Great, play out project and it's a total mess. Penny drops!
Capture had captured the clips as CaptureTemp_0000.m2t, 0001.m2t etc. They get renamed only when it stops capturing. I'd asked it to start from 001 so all the clips are now offset by 1.
Problem really lies with Capture, it doesn't seem to reliably stop capturing when it gets an EOT from the VCR (M15U). From there on everything went pear shaped. Not a big drama this time, I can rebuild the project correctly in a few minutes but it could really put a scare into someone.
