OK, after a *whole lotta* shuckin' and jivin', installin' and driver loadin' I finally figure out how to get video from a Sony TRV615 analog camera into VF2.0c via the video capture tool. I even got it so that VF2.0c/vidcap is putting the video on the 7200 RPM drive I have dedicated for this task.
What happens is that I get the DV bridge recognized, turn on the camera, punch up the "capture video" and let it run. After a bit an error box pops up which complains about "Invalid Argument Supplied". The capture stops at that point and whatever went in appears lost.
Anyway, if all I wanted to do was capture short clips (less than the whole tape) it would probably be OK but I have literally hours worth of video to suck in and edit so this is unacceptable.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem?
My configuration:
Operating System
Platform: Windows 2000
Version: 5.00.2195
Language: English
System Locale: English
User Locale: English
Processor
Class: Pentium II
Identifier: AuthenticAMD
Number of processors: 1
MMX available: Yes
SSE available: No
SSE2 available: No
Display
Primary: 1024x768x32
Memory
Physical memory: 261.6 MB
Paging memory available: 633.0 MB
Virtual memory possible: 2,097.0 MB
I have loaded DirectX 8.1 and the Window Media Player 7.1 (there was a post somewhere that said that WMP71 would add something necessary to the mix)
any ideas? I really need to get this running reliably...
thanks!
