Invalid serial number. WTF?

Depsite there being no wow factor, I thought I'd upgrade. The no re-rendering of HDV will be useful.

Alas, Sony is rejecting my serial number, telling me it is invalid. Odd. It's definitely legitimate.

And I notice that the trial versions are listed against my software list. Why would Sony record the trial version serials in my account?

This Q might annoy you: did you lift the number off of your existing Vegas' help/about Vegas window? I ask because I first picked mine off my last update's e-mail and got the same response as you did. After going directly for the serial number to the boiler plate I passed.

i raised a trouble ticker a week ago about some other issue with what got registered. I know this doesn't help much but raise a ticket, they should be able to help you.
One question though, did you go through the online registraion process or the offline. I can't see why this should make a difference but it was one question I was asked. You could try installing V7 on another machine and doing an online registration, that might just force the update in the registration database and get you going.

Yes, I raised a ticket, and after an hour of so (once the support guys arrived at work) I tried again, and now own Vegas 8!

Just a glitch, I guess.
