Note that this, of course, will change the orientation of our video clip or event but will not change the actual aspect ratio of your video project.

Thank you. I am so lost still. I only get as far as adding the video to a box that has "Add Remove & Clear All" at the top. When I click on "update timeline" it drags to the bottom timeline. There is nothing I right click on to get the option to go to properties. I am sure I am missing a step but no video I have found explains it.

ok step by step.... also, having a screenshot can help.

So, now: what you want to do?

What is the source orientation's ? landscape or portrait?

What is your target edit orientation? landscape or portrait?

Are we allowed to share personal info so to connect one on one? I do not want to violate any agreements.

The video was taken on a cell phone and is in a drop box file. It is there with several other videos. All except one is in the correct orientation. Some videos are filmed in landscape and others in portrait. When I drag all of them to Vega only one turns on its side. That one is in portrait originally. It landscapes when transferred and that is the problem.

End result I wish for is to put about 10 video clips together for one complete video. Of the 10, one needs to be inverted ¼ of a turn counterclockwise.

I have never used this program before, so my level of ignorance is high.

Ok.. thanks for further info.

So I assume your target video will be landscape like common videos, but the problem are those portrait orientations.

Not all video's orientation are detected properly so sometimes we must reorient it manually.

I simulate the following using basic Movie Studio:

Right click>Properties, go to Media tab and select the orientation from 'Rotation' :

Then, if you want to resize it to make larger, go to Event Pan/Crop:

Right click on the F-Box to Match to Output Aspect Ratio:

And you will notice that it will fit to center part of portrait video. You can resize it larger by dragging the corner of the box:

Now you will have a black bars on either sides and want to fill it, go to VideoFX tab and select Black Bar Fill, and then select one of default template to your clip:

Hope helps.

Thank you. I got it upright but now I can't play it. HA! I need A LOT of study. It is showing how I want it but OMG!!! I can't seem to make it into a movie. Is the a link to a group of videos that are easy to follow? It looks like this program is great but I feel as if I am lost as can be. This forum seems like we need to depend on the kindness of strangers. There is not phone number to call and chatting with the company is an endless search on the web. I don't want to become a burden with so many questions.

Go to this tutorial list:

unfortunately, I haven't been able to update it so there should be newer version, but for overall basic - it is the same.

Hello! It has been awhile since you last helped me with my situation. I have not done anything with Vegas. Life got busy and I am not able to focus on what I need to do. I was wondering if I you do any kind of tutoring. I need to do some videos and the learning curve is too slow and choppy by searching videos to see it they contain what I am looking for. My email is >deleted<. Please let me know if you provide that kind of support. Thank you. Ruben
