Is 12 hours too long from DVDA?

I wasn't sure which forum I should post this. Hope I'm in the right place:)
I rendered from Vegas Pro 8 mp2 HDV Pal 1080i and imported the file into DVDA 5. When I burnt the DVD, it took over 12 hours which seems like a long time to me. Is there a better export option from Vegas I should be using to shorten the burn times out of DVDA?

It isn't the burning that took such a long time, but the second rendering, now from HDV PAL to MPEG2 for DVD in DVDA 5. If you render using the PAL DVD template in Vegas you get better quality and it saves you one step.

Thanks Lou. I found a VAAST script called "DVD Prep" which I used. It cut three hours off the render time from Vegas. Thank you for your help.

That VAAST "DVD prep" script made the file too big. It won't even fit on a disc now coming out at 5.3 gig - too big for the disc. Previously when I exported from Vegas using the 1080i option, I could fit that file plus two others on the same disc. What gives? Anyone tell me why this is happening?
