Is 9c 64 bit Actually Installed?

I am not sure if 9c 64 bit fully installed or not and this is a first for me.

So I run the install and it first does the C++ run time installs and then says ok.

So I proceed with the rest of the install and after a bit I get a dialog box with the following:

----------------

The Installation Wizard has ended prematurely!

Your system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, please run the installation again.

Click the Exit button to exit the Instalation Wizard.

-----------------------------

So I tried the install again and this time it did not do the run time install and when it got to the regular install it told me that Vegas was already installed. I then started Vegas 9 and it showed 9c.

The question is, is this thing actually installed or am I going to get a rude/bad something happening later on when editing a video? Idid load a video on the timeline and it setup super fast!

Bad way for an install to finish!

I don't know if I have updated my system specs or not yet but I now have a Core I7 with Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with 6 gig of ram. Built the new system at the End of August.

Any ideas as to what I should do if anything?

I do have two backups (clones) of my system drive and I could start over again and probably get the same results or just let 9c be and live with 9b until 9z is released. LOL!

One thing you might consider returning to a System Restore Point that was prior to the first attempt at 9.0c install. Then download a fresh version of 9.0c, reboot and install again.

I'm at an XP laptop right now, but I think the Vista System restore procedure is similar: Start->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore (follow the wizard & select the correct restore point).

Good Luck!

Are you using any software from FarStone like RestoreIT or DriveClone Pro? I found that this software is not compatible with the Vegas installers and I stopped using it. The errors that I got were the same as yours.

Thanks for the replies.

It no longer matters because I just went back to 9b because 9c has serious bugs in it.

A project with large pictures will show red and not display.

Properties are: 3840x2160x24, JPEG

I can load into Adobe and make it a BMP file with the same res and still get red. Aparently they broke Vegas's ability to handle large graphic files.

As for the install problem, I never had that before and I use Casper to make clones of my drives.

Sorry but 9c needs beta testing!

64 (and 32) installed fine for me on W7/64.

Tested you big JPG bug report and had no problems with that either.
