is a "still picture" possible

i'm not sure of the term "still picture" (french always... )so i'll try to explain what I mean :
For example, in Imovie it's possible to select a single frame from an captured clip, "extract" it, and make it a clip on its own, whose duration is set by the user, and which can be used in the movie.
Is this kind of thing possible in Vegas ?

Yes, move to the frame you want, split the video, insert a velocity envelope and change the velocity to zero.

you can save the frame in the preview window by clicking the floppy diskette icon located on that same panel. I recommend saving as PNG not JPG. output resolution depends on the size of the preview window.

the still-frame will appear in the media pool, and then you can drop it on the timeline and stretch it to fit.
