Here's a video quality question for you more experienced Vegas-ers:
I shot some video this weekend on my digital camera. It looks great on my external monitor while editing. It's just a 10 minute video with simple dissovles, etc. not even any graphics except for the open, and a music track. Very, very basic edit.
Looked great as I was editing, then I rendered it to an MPEG 2, and before even taking it into Architect, looked at it on my WinDVD player. Looking at the rendered MPEG 2 is not as sharp as what was displayed from the .veg timeline. Much of what I shot were birds (cranes) and there seems to be a slight fuzzy outline on them. The video is just not crisp and clear, but looked much better just on the timeline in Vegas. I'm rendering at the best quality setting at 720x480. Of course, it looks the same after bringing it into Architect and burning to a DVD, which I tried thinking that might "adjust" things.
Should I even be rendering it as an MPEG 2? Should I take it right from the .veg file into Architect? If I MPEG it first, how should I have the settings? Or, is there a way to adjust the settings in preparing it in Architect?
Just looking for the best video quality possible... of course, it might just be my camera...
Thanks for all your helpful advice!
