Is it just me?

I have used NB Titler Pro for entire projects, but not recently because of instability.
Now I have a project that could where TP could real shine.
But there's a problem.
When I open the application, Vegas Pro 12 right away crashes.
Never mind even entering a single character.
What is going on here?
I see that NB wants me to upgrade.
Right!
Excuse me, but isn't this something like buying a car that won't start?
What's UP?

Hi Dan. This has been my experience with New Blue Title Pro as well. Crashed incessantly (ver 1.1& VP12) that not able to use consistently, then they release ver 2, telling me it's terrific and want me to upgrade. There's a saying: once bitten twice shy, so I won't be handing over any more cash to NB any time soon, IMHO the whole NB Title Pro has been at best a disappointment.

Dan:

Here's a thread with some info on how I was able to get Titler Pro working for me.

http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=4&MessageID=837253

I have a Dell XPS laptop with pretty good HP for a laptop. Vegas 12 and Titler Pro 1.0 work fine for me. When I use Titler Pro, however, I am careful to do everything s--l--o--w--l--y and also make frequent saves. I get an odd crash here and with but my needs are simple so overall I would say it's okay.

Regards,

Kimberly

I just tried using it in the newest build of Vegas and it crashed a few minutes into designing text. One big glaring weakness of Vegas is that it still does not have a fully functional titler. It has multiple half finished and unstable titlers but nothing like what Premiere offers in that department.

As soon as you install NBT then the problems start. I don't use it and don't have any problems with V12.

I gave up using it. Far too unstable, despite all the updates.

It certainly isn't up to NewBlue's usual standards

I too had to ditch NB (nothing but trouble with every release). Instead I spent my money on Boris Red, which has worked out very well. It's quite expensive, but I am fortunate to be in academia and was able to get it for much less.

Blufftitler is a superb stand-alone 3d titling application. Really, really good quality, and very powerful. Only issue is it is not integrated - but you simple export to any suitable format in BT and then drop it on the timeline...

I don;t work for them - but I do use it all the time.

@LightAds,

When I built my new system I did not install NBT for that reason.

So far, very good.

NewBlue is very stable on the vast majority of systems. For anyone still having issues with Titler Pro, please contact NewBlue support so we can resolve any remaining issues.

I had it installed and it was causing crashes every time I tried to use it, so I removed it.

Considering my system is new and very stable and I do know my way around a computer, I would like to know what systems are able to run it with success.

I am okay with using Bluftitler as I have had it for years. I thought it would be nice to have an integrated titler, but I not married to the idea.

Works for me. I am a very light user of it, but it never crashed.

My system specs should be in my profile. My previous video card was a 5850. Worked there too. Same driver version.

Problem with NB as I discovered today is it was apparently causing a stutter or three during any render under any setting in v12. I took the suggestion here to delete NB from my installation and amazingly, I can now get a clean render.
This sucks in that I upgraded to v12 from v9 in anticipation of using this new titler. I hope Sony comes up with a way to integrate it with v12 properly and quickly!

Update... Late yesterday, I began getting a stutter during playback (after render) even without NB installed, so my apologies. NB is apparently NOT the problem.
Back to the drawing board.
