Is it possible to...?

- choose/add favourite transitions one by one and not the whole category?

- make an option "Fill black border" by default for medias other than 16:9 ratio? So no need to add that fx.

- think forward a few second while playback? I mean, when i add h264 or hevc videos to the timeline, there is always a small freeze/few dropped frames at the cut point. I know how video compression works (gops, i frames, etc), but everything is already on the timeline, why Vegas doesn't "think in advance" a little? This is an important thing what makes a video editor really professional or not. So me and my customer, who maybe sit next to me can see the real result, not just a preview of the video. 20 years ago when i used Edius, it worked like a charm, of course with DV avi files, where every frame was an I-frame, and now we use 1080 and 4k files, but 20 years later and with hyper-mega-brutal-fast cpu and gpu hardwares. So i think this is not a big request.. Just a clever developing task.

@relaxvideo Hi you could create a Project, add a track & add an adjustment track with the Black bar fill fx on it, make the track below a child of the adjustment track so nothing on the other tracks below are affected by the black bar fill, Save it, then when you open that project you'll have a 'Template' to work on, only the media you put on that track below the adjustment will get the black bar fx & off course you can add tracks to that adjustment Parent group,

Instead of opening Vegas open this empty project,

then add your media as normal

@relaxvideo 👍 you can right click on the adjustment track - Group selected tracks & hide those two tracks if you wish or just shrink the adjustment track & add all your media to it's child track, my third pic is of sky & green bush, that's 16:9 & is on the Black bar track but the fx has no effect 👍

The thinking ahead you mention is something i've wanted, there's Dynamic ram & prerender but any adjustment to the media & that cache is lost, a lot of software has now some kind of auto caching, Vegas needs an upgrade in that department,

@relaxvideo PS, if you do create a template project like i suggested, as soon as you open it to use it to work on, save it as your new projects name, that way you're not overwriting your template 😉😁👍
