Is it possible to combine more than 2 projects?

I'm saving processor resources and splitting my project into smaller chunks (separate projects). Apparently, in vms 10 I can only combine 2 projects at a time when consolidating. I will have to combine the already combined projects and work my way up to one finale unless anyone knows a shortcut. Any thoughts?

When you say "combine," do you mean copying the contents from a timeline in one project to a timeline in another project? VMS has a limitation on your number of tracks, but I don't remember how many for each version.

Or do you mean nested projects, meaning one project inserted as an event on the timeline in another project. You can do this in Pro, not sure which version of Studio may support this.

To copy one project to another, launch VMS and open project1, launch VMS again (separate instance) and open project2. In project2 window, select all and copy. In project1 window, place scrubber at the position you want and paste.

I like that. I'll try it. Just haven't done that yet. My internet is down so this is really late in reply but thank you. So far I have 5 projects - kept separate. I'll try to combine them when I'm all done with the copy and paste method you suggest. Will let you , ya'll know.

Yes! It works in VMS 10 HD. Just like you wrote, MSmart. Open two instances of vms, select all of the one you want to add. Copy, then paste at the timeline marker where you want to insert it into another project.

Be careful!
Because none of the settings you added at the Track or Output level will be copied over, only the Event level stuff will be copied. You must add all those settings again.

I think what confuses me is how you could combine 2 projects but not more. What were you doing to combine them in the first place? Anything i can think of that would let you combine things would never be limited at all.

Good points mv and cw. I too, wondered why the projects were kept separate. If there's a valid reason, then the normal way to combine them would be to render each project to a file, then bring each file into a new project to do the final render.

With 10 video and 10 audio tracks, why are you keeping them separate? Explain "saving processor resources".
