No, not easily. They share the same Windows registry settings (unlike the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Vegas, which don't and can coexist). You could either set up a virtual machine with a second copy of Windows or try dual booting with two completely distinct OSes, but that would hardly be worth the trouble. In these instances, you would have 9b installed on one OS and 9c on the other.
> Are you saying I CAN have 9b 32bit and 9c 64bit?
Yes, why not? They install into completely different folder structures. The registry entries are for 9.x so any 9.x will work. I've updated the 32-bit version to make sure it works without updating the 64-bit version. They are separate programs.
I think I was confused because my orignal question was "Can I reinstall 9b 32 bit and continue to run 9c 64 bit?" to which the response was "no, not easily".
I'm using Win7 OS 64 bit. Using 9.0b 64 bit and 9.0c 32 bit. This seems to work out for me. I edit AVCHD in the 9c 32 bit with no problem and then render in 9b 64 bit as it is faster. No conflicts. No problems. I also have 8.0c loaded for use with AVCHD but 9c 32 bit is working fine with the media I"ve been using lately. If I convert my AVCHD to MXF files, then 9b 64 bit works well too.
I am running 9b x64 and 9c x32 concurrently. 9c x32 was installed after the x64 version and my veg files default to opening with the x32 version (I assume this is the reason). So, if I open nested veg's in the 9b x64 version or open from explorer, they open in 9c x32.
I should add that trying to reassign the .veg suffix doesn't make any difference for me.
