Is it possible to slow down audio, like video?

I realise that velocity envelopes can be used to slow video down, but what about audio? Unless I'm missing something, can this not be done with audio?

I'm trying to drag out an audio signal so that it fills a given amount of time. I'm not concerned about the pitch being lowered. Beside, I can fix that problem anyway with other tools.

You can adjust audio speed with CTRL-DRAG but it does not have a velocity envelope like video.

I don't want to sound clueless, but, when I use CTRL-DRAG, it simply makes a copy of the file when I letgo of the mouse click. Am I missing something?

Act like you are resizing the video but hold down the CTRL key while you do it. It will "stretch" the video/audio to be the new size instead of revealing more video/audio.

That does what I need. Thank you VERY much.
