I'm trying to time shrink a long piece of video from 30 minutes to 1 minute or so (to speed up a sunset).
It seems that using the Ctrl + drag functionality limits me to speeding up the video by 4. Am I missing something?
I suppose the workaround is to time shrink, render and repeat.
does VV3 have a time lapse capture? this capture program called Scenalyzer Live does a time lapse capture where you can capture 1 out of every 'x' number of frames...the higher 'x' is, the quicker the time lapse plays...
Great suggestions (both of you).
A time lapse feature is pretty much what I should be using, but my hack was to speed up the footage. Will velocity envelopes a try as well as the software mentioned.
I also use time compressing and velocity envelopes in vegas when I'm doing short speed ups (speeding up to a minute of video) and I have had to use the compress then render, compress then render technique to get really fast video (I'll have to try compressing and THEN using the velocity envelope...sounds like it will save some time)...BUT, when dealing with, say, a half hour of video that needs to be compressed, the only way to go is a time lapse capture...it saves time AND disk space...
