Is Movie Studio upgrade more compatible with Sony DCR mini-DVD camera?

I purchased a DCR100 mini-DVD camera last fall and was very frustrated to find that I couldn't easily import from the mini-DVD to edit video on Movie Studio. This is because it uses an audio file-type that Movie Studio doesn't recognize (AC-3).

Does anyone know if this new upgraded version is more compatible with Sony's mini-DVD cameras? It seems like a no-brainer to make their products actually work together!!

If not, has anyone figured out the easiest way to edit video from the mini-DVD in Movie Studio?

Thanks!

I'd be very surprised if it supports AC-3, there's no mention of it in anything I've read.

There are lots of posts on this subject but the most common answer seems to be "get a different camera" - sorry!

you'd best give up on movie studio and find an application that works with AC-3 audio.

I would doubt it. Sony Vegas costs between $700 and $1000, and it doesn't recognize AC3 audio. I don't see them adding such support to a $99 product.
