In response to vidcap posts here, I thought I would try an experiment.

Load vidcap 6 (from Vegas 8 directory) = crash
Load Vidcap 6 (from Vegas 7 directory) = "such&such device is not available* (but crash on exit! [if I don't change device to available one])


Load SF9 when I have something tying up the audio drivers = crash
Load SF8 = *such&such hardware is not available*
