"is not a valid project"

[Bought my Vegas/DVDA 1.0 a couple of weeks before it was sold to SONY.]
I'm just now trying to burn DVDs on my Plexor PX708 burner. When I try to send my rendered project to DVDA it says "is not a valid project" !!! I have rendered in MPEG-2, ac3, and avi formats with NO success. Am I missing something?

I have also tried to send to Adobe Encore. Very strange, it only lets me access 4 minutes and 42 seconds of footage. (My project is 37 minutes long.) Any ideas? Thanks for any help you might suggest!

Exactly what are you doing when you get this message?

Hey Rob!
Well, well, well. Now you've swerved into my delimea. I cannot get to my saved file for some reason when I am in DVDA. It just doesn't show up. So I close DVDA, locate my file in My Documents then attempt to 'open' it in DVDA. wala... "not a valid project"

Thanks.

What's the file extension? You are trying to open a DAR file, correct?
