Is SoundForge Pro suite included Vegas Pro suite? (or how much of it?)

TTTT wrote on 8/3/2020, 12:02 PM

Edit: I rewrote the title, first version was too long for the text field and end up ambiguous.

After remaining with SoundForge Pro 11 for years, I recently upgraded to SoundForge Pro 14 Suite (which come with SpectralLayers and some other stuff). I think I paid something like ~250 EUR (I'm not sure of the precise price anymore)?.

I see now that simply updagrading my Vegas Pro 17 Suite to Vegas Pro 18 Suite, I would have received both SoundForge Pro 14 and SpectralLayer.

My question: is all of the SoundForge suite included in the Vegas Suite or are there still actual differences.

I feel like I may have I just lost ~250 EUR by buying SoundForge Pro suite...

Please don't take the title litteraly, the question was just too long.

I think sound Forge have add new features and vp now have click and crackles removal

Do any one know if u can now do 3d audio if they didn't add it that fine bc the team is small so there's only a handful that they can do it

SF pro supports up to 32 channels. SF is an multi-channel editing app, not a multi-track app.

See a comparison chart of the SF versions are here.

Yes, I know what SoundForge is... but as I understand it Sound Forge Pro (and SpectralLayer as well) is included in Vegas Pro suite again now. (I think that SoundForge used to be part of the suite when it was owned by Sony up to Vegas Pro 12 or 13 or something)

My question is more like, since I plan to upgrade Vegas Pro 17 suite to Vegas Pro 18 suite anyway, did I just waster approximately 250 EUR when I bought Sound Forge Pro 14 suite a few weeks ago, or are there actually some important features that are not included in Vegas Pro suite...

ANY version of sound forge will interact naturally with any version VEGAS PRO. This has been my experience.

If I were in your position, I"d just get VEGAS Edit.

It has all the core features, minus flicker reduction.

Otherwise, you technically have a superior sound package.

So it similar to pro tools it just that the layout is different or something and pro tools have a little more features

Will a serial number be provided as my 365 serial does not work with Soundforge Pro 14?

I did.

You technically have a superior sound package.

Your suite comes with an additional component which has the value of 469 dollars, according to the magix site.

To answer a question that I might not have addressed - no, there shouldn't be any differences as per the descriptions read between both sites.

To save your money - buy VEGAS EDIT, unless you care about Borris Continuum and the other effects in the suite.

Go to your Account Page and download the 365 download manager. It'll immediately start downloading the newer versions

Oh, ok, thank you, sorry I read too fast. Or I rather expected something like, identifying things that ARE in SoundForge Pro suite but are not in Vegas Pro suite. You answered the other way around in a send, which it OK too.
I'll need to check if there aren't any of the actual "Suite" features that I need.
In the time when the "Suite" included the complete Hitfilm/Ignite plug-ins collections, I couldn't have gone with EDIT but I'll see.

I think the answer is yes you wasted money, it's the way MAGIX seems to work - continuously offering different deals (I nearly went for the sound forge upgrade too). It's all about winning new customers and has the effect of alienating existing customers.

TTTT wrote on 8/3/2020, 3:56 PM

On the other side, when it was Sony who was not continuously offering deal... I remember paying a lot more to upgrade Vegas. So this makes me want to complain a bit, but not too much.

I think I understand your question since I have the same one. If I upgrade with the Vegas Pro Suite, does Sound Forge 14 copy come with all of the same upgrade items if I upgraded Sound Forge on its own without Vegas? For instance, does it come with the same Convology XT pack, ozone 9 elements and rx elements, or is it just Sound Forge 14?

I think that's your question, since it's the question I have as well. I was already thinking of upgrading to Spectralayers 7 after seeing what appears to be a quality of life update in using the software, then I see it and SF 14 included in Vegas upgrade and I'm like dang, that's a sweet (pun intended lol), deal.

I had no intention of upgrading Vegas 16, but getting it in addition to upgrades of Sf 14 and Spectralayers which I was already considering as well is a pretty good bundle. One of the better Magix ones I've seen in my opinion. If the other SF 14 upgrade items mentioned are included as well, I may have to pull the trigger.
