Is the trimmer broken?

I'm trying to create a trimmed version of a 60 second project. I go to save as>click copy and trim media with project>create trimmed copies of source media.

Yet when I save it still creates one of the complete long clips which is over 5 gigs. Any ideas? I seem to remember this working in version 4.

I've also noticed that if you create a trimmed project with extra heads and tails the subclips will not come out right. They will start from the beginning of the clip instead of where you had them marked.

Thanks,

Marc

I've heard about the sub clip problem before. Hopefully they'll fix it. I also know if you use mpegs, which Vegas cannot read correctly, the "save with trimmed" will produce bad results. Do you save your project to a new, empty folder?

Using Velocity Envelopes will also cause the entire clip to be saved instead of just the part that appears on the timeline.

1. I am saving it to a seperate bin

2. No velocity envelopes but thanks for the tip

3. On the clip in question it was the ninth take so perhaps the bug has something to do with having takes on video.

Thanks Marc
