Is there a way to automate a multipass rendering?

Hello, I am wondering if is possible to automate a multipass rendering session (for divx encoded AVI) in Vegas 4. Instead of having to come in after each pass to set up the next pass, I would like to set it up to automatically start the next programmed pass after the current one is completed, with specific parameters depending on which pass is being performed. .

Is such a procedure available to me?

Thanks for any suggestions you are able to provide.

Assuming that each pass doesn't depend on the output of the previous pass, you could open up mulitple instances of Vegas and start each pass rendering simultaneously. Then you can walk away until they've all finished.

Could you use a batch rendering script...have the first and second pass/render named different....?

Thanks for your response, Chien, but performing a multipass rendering *does* use the output (specifically the divx.log) of the previous pass; that's what makes multipass work.

Thanks for your reply, Foley. Your answer sounds like it is heading me in the correct direction; how do I perform a "batch rendering script"?

Thanks again,
