is there a way to do this?

how can i replicate an effect over a series of clips? let me give you an example so it makes sense..

i've got a video that only consists of images that transition from one to the next.
how can i not only assign (or paste) on transition repeatedly, but also have it the same duration so they all match? i also wonder if there is a way to resize all of the images on the timeline at once?

this is a very tedious process having to go to each image and tweak- especially when there are like 100 or more.

help?

thanks.

Options | Preferences | Editing:
set cut to overlap conversion for transition time
set default still image length

you can drag and drop several images at once onto the timeline and get an instant slide show.

for images already placed on the timeline, you may be able to set the lengths of many events at once by using the "edit details" window. the idea would be to paste a column of numbers (seconds) over the existing column of event lengths. it is tricky but you can do some interesting stuff and save a lot of time.

i still wish i could find a way to change all transitions at once. the "edit details" window looks like it has potential, but doesn't do enough. i couldn't get it to alter the transitions.

Try this:

Prerequisite: prepare your images and put them in one folder and rename them to the order you wish them to appear in your slideshow ie 001-002-003 etc., or capture from video source using the floppy icon above Preview Window.

1. ensure that auto crossfade is enabled
2. Options/Preferences/Editing Set still image length, check auto overlap
3. Options/Preferences/Editing Set Cut to Overlap (try 2.002 (60 frames)

Be sure to click on apply and OK buttons.

4. click 2nd icon on tool bar in Media Pool, navigate to folder you have images
5. click first image, holding down shift key click on last image to select all then open.

All images should now appear in Media Pool.

6. Again click first image, holding down shift key, click on last, drag to timeline.

Note that an automatic crossfade of the proportions you set is automatically added between each image regardless how many all in one step. Test effect. Now finish up by dragging your favorite transiton over each crossfade area. AFAIK there is no way to automate adding multiple transitions in one step beyond the simple crossfade. Wish there was.
