Is there a way to split long clip into smaller ones in the media pool (Linked only, not copied)

Hi have this long 1 hour clip and I want to go through it and select regions, and make new "virtual" clips that point back to the master one. Then I can arrange these clips in bins so that all my takes and things are sorted.

Can this be done, I can't find anything that tells me if it can or not.

This is a feature I've been lobbying Sonic Foundry and now Sony for for some time. You can't do exactly what you're asking, but you can come close.

Thanks BStanding. Took a while to get through that thread ;) and at least it's better than nothing.

I really like Vegas, but I had used Avid Express Dv in the past (Just can't afford to buy a copy myself) and like the way you can mange clips in most circumstances.
