Is there anyone who has tried 3D in Sony Vegas Pro

I bought 3D Sony HDR-TD10E for $ 1573.78 and bought Sony Vegas Pro it kraches from time to time
I have tried everything i went back to 595 and testing and now I'm piste off.

When buying a camera with this price and Sony Vegas says you can edditera 3D things
should run without problems or???
Or have I been robbed?
These are harsh words I know but how much to put up with!
My computer is a AMD 4 cores 8 gigs ram and a GeForce GT 530 1 gig ram
it is sufficient for this 3D camera Sony??

I have been editing 3D video from my Sony HDR-TD10 3D camcorder in Vegas for more than a year now. I am running Vegas Pro 11 (latest build) now on a Mac Pro 8-core (2.8GHz CPU) with an nVidia GTX 285 video card using Windows 7 64-bit Professional running under Boot Camp on the Mac Pro.

The MVC clips generated in 1920 X 1080 by the Sony HDR-TD10 require a 64-bit OS, fast CPU's and a video card that supports CUDA to be edited with a reasonable degree of success in Vegas 11 Pro. However, if those criteria are satisfied, Vegas 11 Pro does a decent job of editing this 3D material and from the edited video, when rendered properly a Blu-ray compatible 3D disc can be produced, although Vegas 11 Pro no longer allows burning such a disc from within the program.

While your computer specs are quite different than my own, it would appear to me that your computer should be capable of editing the MVC material produced by the Sony HDR-TD10 using Vegas Pro 11.

Over on the AVS Forum (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=192) you will find a lot of conversation about making and editing Sony HDRF-TD10 footage in Vegas and other editors. I would encourage you to post your issues editing TD10 footage in Vegas 11 Pro there since there seems to be little interest in 3D here on the Vegas forum.

I hope this helps a bit.

"require a 64-bit OS"

I can use the 32bit version for TD10 files. Maybe you mean, when he will edit 1-2 hour long projects?

My friend just buyed an expensive AMD Firepro card (as i remember the 7800), hoped it will help editing the MTS files on primary monitor, and see in line alternate 3D mode in secondary monitor full screen. But he said it not helped at all. Speed was equal than with the pure i7 cpu!! Rendering was however a lot faster.

You say, for preview he need a CUDA card? Even a "cheap" gtx285 can do better full quality preview than this amd? We only want 25fps playback in full quality with some applied fx (Levels, CC, Stereo adjust)

thanks!

I have had problems in all these releases and has sent krach reports wherever possible from the Vegas Pro 11
fault dump window to Sony.I Have upgraded from the original purchase edition.

1: vegaspro11.0.521_64bit

2: vegaspro11.0.595_64bit NewBlue plugin problem you wrote about and upgraded to vegaspro11.0.683_64bit

3: Went back to vegaspro11.0.595_64bit for test Have made reinstallation of your rekomendation link several
times and have not instald NewBlue plugins.
One of the clips is 1 min at 58 sec, and when I go back and forward in this on the timeline the program froze
completely and Windows says no response of Vegas Pro 11 waited half an hour for the response but it ended
up rebooting the computer.Have uninstalld all unnecessary programs on the computer too.

But as I wrote above, various problems in all relises when you render a 3D movie that is one hour long Approximately
the program krach vary 20% and 50% and 80% approximately of the rendering in Sony Vegas Pro 11 to Blue-Ray.

Marton,

You are correct that a 32 bit OS can be used to edit HDR-TD10 MVC footage. However, I have found that using Windows 7 Professional 64-bit gives a much better 3D editing experience (fewer delays, crashes, computer hang-ups, etc.) than when using 32-bit, especially for longer projects.

A CUDA card may not be required to preview the 3D files, but I have found that playback of 3D MVC files in Sony Vegas 11 Pro is far better when the GPU can be used to assist the playback. I cannot compare the GTX285 to the AMD video card that the OP has as I am not familiar with the AMD video card. I do not get real-time playback of MVC files when many effects are applied or a transition is applied between two MVC clips without rendering in Sony's Vegas Pro 11 with my GTX 285. Some folks on the AVS Forum have reported that they can get real-time playback of MVC files with sufficiently new and powerful CPU's and GPU's.
