Is there isuses w\NVidia Geforce2 MX & Vegas4b?

KPITRL wrote on 4/15/2003, 2:15 PM
For some strange reason, after I upgraded to Vegas 4b,
while I'm editing, vegas just freezes, and I end
up having to shut down completly.

And also sometime, before it freezes, certain parts of my
diplay starts to change colors, I mean like psycedelic,
and once my whole display just changed colors.

I think I remember reading in an earlier post, that
Vegas has a problem with the NVidia Geforce2 MX
graphic card, which is what I have. (32meg)

I went to NVivdia's web sight and downloaded an upgrade,
not being sure if this is the issue, but the problem still
remains, except the color changes.

Any thoughts on this one????

Thanks in advace

Try reducing the hardware acceleration level.

I run the 32 MB GeForce2MX 400 on XP PRO with Vegas 3 AND Vegas 4 installed. No problems. Latest 43.35 Detonator drivers.

There are no issues with nVidia cards.

{{Try reducing the hardware acceleration level.}}

I have tried this to no avail, I forgot to mention that this problem
only occurs when running Vegas 4, when I go back to VV3 no problem.

The only other thing that I can think of, is Windows ME.
Maybe it's time to take the dive.

if anyone out there is sharing this strange problem
and found a sollution, please post.

Thanks everybody,

Uninstall/reinstall

Maybe even delete the Sonic Foundry subdirectories after uninstalling.

Go to XP I had windows me and used to say the only cure for me was suicide. Without a doubt the worst version of windows ever. I got so frustrated with ME I dumped everything and went back to 98SE then when XP came out I upgraded to XP PRo and have had no problems since I hate windows but love XP

Ran this by a graphics card guru.... If it occurs only in VV4, & not VV3 or anything else, would suspect something along the lines of using latest DirectX in VV4 could be causing the prob. with the card's drivers trying to do something like changing color depth in certain areas of the display, wrong values in or out of the card's ram etc... If you've got the very latest version of DX, might try different driver versions, or perhaps changing screen size & color depth might have enough of an effect to give you a better idea of what's happening.

Swap your AGP card for a simple PCI vid card and see if the problem goes away. Or another AGP card with a different chipset ?

Thanks Guys, I haven't been on in a couple of days,
so I have yet to adrress some of the advice given to
hopefully solve my problem.

One thing I should note is, I thought my problem
was just a Vegas 4 issue, but VV3 has the same problem
now, also, but not until after the Vegas 4 update, and
as I said earlier, the only other change I made was
updating my video drivers.

I have since went back to my original drivers, and kinda
waiting to see what happens.

I'll keep ya posted,
