Is there more than one way to uotput to DV camera?

Having problems with loding the PAL DV file into the timeline then selecting Tools and print to DV tape, i keep getting a one second or so blank black screen on the mini DV camcorder, no specific times or anything, just very random. All screensafers and programmes in the backgrouns are turned off, rest of the output works fine except the odd black flashes.
SOOOO my question is, is there any other way i can try to get my footage from the PC to my camcorder??
thanks for any help
regards
Simon

You could use vidcap to write that to the tape. I believe I remember others doing this. It sounds like you already have the DV file. If not, render to DV AVI first.

Instead of printing to tape form the timeline, render as before, but save the file to disk using the appropriate AVI DV template. Once finished rendering open the print to tape applet or go to Media Pool and access it there, then print to DV tape by opening the file file. A ten minute project takes just 10 minutes to transfer to your camera's DV tape.

I have the same problem too. Even if I print to tape from Vidcap using my rendered DV AVI file. I'm using an Adaptec 1394 card to a Canon XL1s camera as a converter to my VCR. Someone suggested it could be the camera that is causing the 1 second or so black out randomly. When the video blacks out for 1 second, the audio does not.
