Is this a bug?????Sonic people please help

When I upgrade to Vegas 4.01 I can no longer run Mpeg-1 video off my multimedia builder exe files. Windows error autorun error. BUIL~.dll error from hard drive They cannot be played from CD or hard drive and play Mpeg-1 video.

It took me several re-installations of windows 2000 to track this down.

If I uninstall Vegas I can again run these MMB exe files but with Vegas 4 no go.

What the heck is happening?
Can I get these two to work together. I really need both programs to work.
Has anyone else had this problem?
The first version of vegas did not cause this problem.

I thought Vegas 4.0c was the latest upgrade?

I read somewhere in these forums that it may have something to do with upgrading to Windows Media Player 9.

Have you updated to WMP9?

Yes but the first version worked with WM-9
