Thanks for the help in the last day or two. I purchased some artbeats flame footage (which also came with a corresponding "matte" of the footage).
I can not seem to get the compositing to work in v7.
The following vegas veg includes just some text for the matt, a red generated media intended to show throught the text matte, and a 3rd track with a colorful background.

I am expecting to see the letters "WOW" colored red over the colorful background. All I see is the colored background.
Could someone please check this out and verify if it works properly for you... alternately, it's VERY likely I'm making some bonehead mistake... please let me know that, too!
