Hi all,
V8 + DVDA5
Sony HC9e camcorder.

My aim is to burn BD's from HDV and/or AVCHD files!

I found this notebook as a suitable candidate but it is not 2.80 Ghz. so it does not meet the minimum requirement of V8!

Should I wait for 2.80 Ghz.?

Thanks in advance.

(Any other advise always welcome!)

Buy the best refurb HP(they look new) you can afford or meets your needs including the 3 year warranty with accidental damage. Search on laptop is has been discussed a lot of late.

Ogul,
The recommended 2.8GHz processor speed is in reference to a single core cpu.
The link you provided is for a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 Processor.
That is WELL ahead of the game. JFYI

You can compare processor performance on NLE rendering and other benchmarks on tomshardware.com and elsewhere. Although the link to a $3000 laptop is nice, there are many laptops at lower price points that should do just fine with HD.

In fact, the 1.86GHz dual core on my $600 Sony laptop probably runs faster than a 2.8GHz single core cpu. Apples and oranges.
