Is V7 less stable than V6?

I've had V7b crash twice on me in the last hour or so.

Once when I inadvertently selected the WAX plugin for a transition. An "empty" VideoFX window appeared, a brief message saying "Wax does not work with this version of Vegas" (Then why was it in my FX menu?), then "Program Not Resonding." Restart required.

Later, I had an image on the timeline. Selected it. Ctrl-C to copy. Ctrl-V to paste. D'oh. "Program Not Responding". Restart required.

This (the latter crash, at least) never happened with V6.

My question is a general one. Have you found V7 to be more, or less, stable than V6?

I have found to be just as stable.

I too had a problem with Wax, but Vegas did not freeze or report incompatibilities - it merely ran incredibly slowly until I removed the transition.

equal stability here, the image sounds like there might be some sort of corruption or something. As for WAX, that has never been good for me, I would find that it would freeze up or crash my machine more times than i cared, so I just never used it, I don't think it had anything to do with vegas.

There is no Wax plug for V7. Why does it show up? I would think that Vegas doesn't know it ain't a fit until it is too late? That would be my guess. I would also think that the Team-Madison are more concerned that its Users get to get at those 3rd Party Plugs they have used in the past than have Users say something akin to, "Hey! Why wont the latest version of Vegas pick up ALL my 3rd Party Plugs? Are they saying it WONT work in V7?!??" - Dammed if they do and dammed if they don't! - But I hear yah Chum!!

Vegas 7 is stable here. But it does take more time to load than V6 and V6 took more time to load than V5 . . . .

Previewing in V7 for me is more stable/flexible than V6. Media Manager - yes I know it is another MM - makes for more stability and responsiveness.

Tell me? What format was the IMAGE? Was it a still? What format and how BIG?

The image was .jpg 800x600. Very normal stuff.

This has happened a couple times for me. Maybe I'm keystroking too quickly or something. ctrl-c/ctrl-v. I'm also zoomed way in on the time line...pics are only 3-4 frames in lenght. I dunno.

Frustrating, though, as it seems random. Once I restart Vegas, re-save the 0000000.veg project, try to recreate what was lost, then find where I was working previously, and repeat the cut/paste process, it always works.

For me V7 is actually much more stable than V6 ever was (and I also use WAX). Had frequent crashes while editing HDV in V6, also crashes when rendering complex projects to WMV. None of that in V7 so far.

No stability issues here with Vegas 7.0b.
