Is Vegas 23 any good for color grading?

I want to learn to color grade my video. I started with Davinci Resolve, but it was overwhelming and much more complicated than I need. I'm just doing this for fun. I used Vegas long ago (version 13) and am much more familiar with it. I'm currently using the trial.

For hours I've been trying to get this footage to look as good as I had it in Davinci Resolve. I must have had some dumb luck with Resolve because it looks amazing there. But I can't get anywhere close to that good in Vegas. Is it me or the tool? I thought Vegas would be easier.

BTW at first I tried some Look LUTs but gave up on that and have been trying to grade it manually.

There might be some core differences that just cause Resolve to look better, regardless of color grading? Maybe it just handles DJI drone footage better?

Thanks for any tips.

A related problem I am having when comparing these two software packages - the preview in Vegas always looks bad. You can see I have it set to Best (Full) but it always looks blurry. The preview in Resolve is much sharper. I pretty much have to render the video to see my work in Vegas.

Here's the best I can do after working with chatGPT on it for another hour.
