Is Vegas 6 64 bit compatible? jonathanroth wrote on 4/27/2005, 8:25 PM Anyone know whether or not Vegas 6 can be used as a 64 bit application? In everything I find in Sony's website I see them trumpeting the fact that it is "multi-processor friendly". Is anyone using Vegas 6 on a 64 bit system? Results, anyone? Back to post
Comments TheHappyFriar wrote on 4/27/2005, 9:11 PM their official stance has been no commercial release of WinXP64, no comment. That excuse should go out the window soon. :) p@mast3rs wrote on 4/27/2005, 9:19 PM Actually XP64 has been released for distribution. Hopefully Sony is working on a 64bit version. rmack350 wrote on 4/27/2005, 10:12 PM I think there may still be a dearth of device drivers for XP64 so I wouldn't go rushing in just yet. Do a search in this forum. This has bee talked about before and there are some win64 beta testers posting here. Rob Mack Cheesehole wrote on 4/29/2005, 12:24 PM I'm giving it a go... Vegas 2, 3, and 4 seem to work fine under WinXP Pro 64 running on dual Opteron 248's. Vegas 5 wants .NET 1.1, so I'm installing the .NET 2.0 64 bit beta 1 but it's taking like an HOUR to install. Once I get Vegas 5 (hopefully) working I'll try 6. EDIT: Well that's what I get for assuming... I got through the .NET 2.0 64 bit install only to discover that I had to install the regular .NET 1.1 package anyway! Okay moving onto Vegas 6...
