Issue with arming default track

sergeys wrote on 10/2/2011, 12:42 PM
My understanding was that to arm a track as default (for adding new clips on timeline) one has to click the square with number of this track, in the upper left corner. Instead every time I click in any place of the track - this track becomes a new default; even minimization of a track arms it as the default. Anything can be done with it?

Never heard of such a thing. The only "arm a track" I am aware of is before recording audio to it.

As far as I know .. clips are added to the "active" track .. whichever that may be.

Thank you. I though it was different, it doesn't make much sense to me that minimizing a track makes it the active track. But, obviously, this is how it works, sense or not. Being a migrant from Roxio I do appreciate how well Vegas Studio is designed.

I dunno. I've never ever thought about it. I just drag the clip i want to the track i want. I've never worried about which track is the "default".

It would be the active track because it was the last track you did anything to. If you minimized a track and did not click on another track .. and added a clip without dragging it .. it would go to that (minimized) track.
