Issues with Applying Non-Real Time Event FX

Without going into my system specs, etc... has anyone had issues with Applying Non-Real Time Event FX to their audio events in V10d-64?

Since version 6 and up I have never had any problems with Vegas crashing or locking up. Now, for the first time in my life, V10d-64 running on W7 crashes when I try to apply a Graphic EQ to my audio event (or the process indicator goes to a indiscriminant percentage of FX completion and locks up my computer).

I get around the issue by running V8-32 and applying the FX there before continuing to edit in V10-64.

Count me (finally), as one of the many who have written about crashes! I guess it was only a matter of time.

I don't use the Non-real time Audio FX anymore as the newer Audio Event FX seems to work just fine without creating an extra file .. ( of course you may want the file)

BUT -- I tried it just to see what you mean --- and YES. I'm getting the same behavior. It seems to process to about 7 or 8% and then goes into a loop of some kind and never completes. It does not lock up my computer but does lock up that instance of Vegas in an endless loop. I can kill the process in Task Manager cleanly but it does seem to be a bug in V10d .. I confirm the problem.

Running Win7 64 bit.

Anecdotally, it does seems that Vegas is struggling a bit these days compared to audio engines in others - DAWs in particular. Some plug-ins crawl under Vegas that sail along in others. Don't know why it seems that way. Still, Vegas UI is superior.

xberk... thanks for the confirmation! AND, thanks for the heads-up on Audio Event FX. I completely forgot about that function... and it works great. However, I guess i'll have to create new audio tracks to use that function so as not to affect other events, but it may be easier than generating a Take 2 file (and having to do it in Vegas 8).

Thanks again.

Not sure I'm following you but .. Audio Event FX only effects one event, not the whole track. You can do Audio Track FX too - different procedure.
